Mom’s Night Out

Our homeschool group has a mom’s night out at a local ceramics shops.  We had a wonderful night, drinking our coffee drinks, painting up a storm, and chatting the night away…

Here are some of the items our group made, pre firing and glazing…I did the stack of napkin rings…

This night was a good reminder to me on how little I indulge my creative side and how weak that skillset is.  I need to carve out time to work that side of the brain…

Our Waterfall

When we were looking to buy this house, we saw that our pool had a waterfall.  However, it was not running and the home inspector could not get it to run.  Since this was a foreclosure, this became something we would have to have fixed on our own, after purchasing.
Well, we got it fixed and can now wnjoy the lovely tumbling sound of water over rocks.  I am glad to have these shots because the person who is taking care of our yars has removed all the wildflowers around it 🙁

The Bird

As we were moving in, we noticed that there was a little bird who kept pecking on our garage window.  The screen on the window has a huge hole (as do many of our other window screens).  It looks like the birds like to use this as material for their nest?  Anyway, this one bird was not picking at the screen, s/he was just pecking nonstop at the window.  I sprayed the window with cleaner, but that did not dissuade it.  I think he’s cute and don’t mind him coming around.  David wants to kill it because it is pooping on the side of the house.  ‘A’ chimed in and said we should leave it to our cat, Chelan, because that’s his job!

I think the bird got the message that someone is living here now, because I have not seen him for about a week…or Chelan did his job…

MY ROSES!

One of life’s joys is enjoying the beauty and fragrance of the rose.  I am blessed to have about seven rose bushes at my new home.  Here are some of the most recent blooms…

A Precious Gift

My friend, Toni, MADE this incredible basket and gave it to me as a housewarming gift.  It is made out of pine needles that she collected on Apple Hill.  It is filled with potpourri she purchased on Apple Hill as well.  I love this wonderful, unique gift and will treasure it always…

Our kids all lining up to serve a lunch to those who call the Broderick docks their home…

Moving Day

It’s done!  We have moved from our apartment into our new home!  Now it’s all about unpacking the boxes…a little bit day by day…

Mustard Seed School

Our homeschool group has a service team that finds opportunities for us to serve every month.  Our September service project was to collect and donate school supplies, snacks, toiletries, etc.  to the Mustard Seed School.  I encourage you to follow the link to learn more about this incredible program.

After collecting the items, a few of our families delivered them.  We were also able to have a tour of the property as well.

Some of our kids…

Getting ready to begin the tour…

New Fedoras

The boys love watching “Indiana Jones” and get excited whenever we spot someone wearing a fedora.  Have you ever priced fedoras?  Anyway, while at WalMart one day, we ran across these fedoras for $10!  Happy mama, happy kids…
