The boys and I participated in a wonderful service project recently. Move America forward is an organization dedicated to providing care packages to soldiers located overseas. We teamed up with other homeschool volunteers to complete packing and preparing boxes for shipment. They appreciated our assistance and we even made it onto their website! Check it out at

we treated ourselves to lunch at Farrell’s after. (Yes, Farrell’s!  We have one here, can you believe it?..)

The Blue Whale…

…is the largest mammal in existence.  Up to 100 feet in length!  The boys took chalk and measured the length of  a whale, on the sidewalk.

A few facts about the blue whale…

…a baby can crawl through their arteries…

…their heart is the size of a VW bug…

…a baby whale is the length of two minivans…

The last photo you can see the boys at each end of the whale.  Actually the van is obscuring the tip…

Cooking Class: Pizza

A second cooking class at Williams-Sonoma.  This time the theme was PIZZA!

The boys made dough from the Williams Sonoma mix, and made their own little pizzas…

Science: Cohesion

The boys did an experiment on cohesion.  They recorded how many drops of water they could get on top of a penny before it spilled over.  I think they experimented with soapy water, and something else, as well.

JERSEYS!

Dad brought home a couple of official Seahawks jerseys while on business in Seattle.  They were thrilled and wear them practically every day….

My cousin Katy lives in the town of Tracy, about an hour south of us.  We met up in Sacramento for a sweet day together with out kids.  First stop was Fairytale Town, then a treat at the Tower Cafe.

The boys and I handed out ministry fliers, opened doors, and welcomed guests to our church!
