Whew!\u00a0 What a week!\u00a0 Here are the highlights of our road trip…<\/strong><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Saturday-Sunday:<\/strong> Finished packing\u00a0MIL’s stuff\u00a0and drove from Seattle to Sandpoint, Idaho.\u00a0 We left late and did not get in until almost 10pm.\u00a0 I rode alone with the boys.\u00a0 They were amazing!\u00a0 We had a great time singing songs and making up new ones.\u00a0 We went to a friend of MIL’s house for dinner Sunday night.\u00a0 They have a gorgeous home with a large veranda upon which we ate our salmon dinner.\u00a0 They had horses, and the boys got to feed them.\u00a0 They also played with the dogs, cats, and fish.\u00a0 They were in heaven!<\/p>\n

Monday-Tuesday:<\/strong> We left Sandpoint and drove to Chelan.\u00a0 We arrived about 7pm,.\u00a0 My family had waited for us for dinner and wow, what a treat!<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Every 4th of July we go to my aunt and uncle’s house.\u00a0 We have a different theme each year for a special dinner.\u00a0 We choose a state, dress up according to that theme, and my aunt creates a menu.\u00a0 This year, the theme was “Louisiana”. (We have also done Hawaii, Texas, and New York). \u00a0She made a BBQ chicken, rice and beans, a slaw, (I know I am forgetting something else), and a Louisiana mud pie for dessert.<\/p>\n

‘R’ was a bottle of Tabasco Sauce, and ‘A’ was ‘Emeril’.\u00a0 I could not coordinate and outfit for\u00a0me and DH \u00a0in time, so we just wore beads.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

My mom, cousin, BIL and family, all had to leave on the 4th.\u00a0 We were all pretty tired and were in bed before the fireworks started on the lake.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Wednesday-Thursday: <\/strong>After a mellow boat ride along the south shores of Lake Chelan, we drove to Leavenworth.\u00a0 For those unfamiliar with Leavenworth, this is a quaint little mountain town in the middle of Washington.\u00a0 It is set up to look like it would be a town in Germany.\u00a0 All of the businesses have to have some sort of embellishment or design to tie in to the theme.\u00a0 It is also the perfect spot for white water rafting and camping.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

We checked into the KOA ‘K’ampground and proceeded to pitch our tent.\u00a0 A hailstorm began and we realized we did not have our rainfly for the tent!\u00a0 DH’s sis joined us and the two of them went to a local lumberyard and purchased tarp.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

It took a while to adjust to the lack of privacy in a KOA, but the amenities made up for it.\u00a0 The boys had a blast at the pool, and playground.\u00a0 They also loved getting ice cream (and I loved my mocha) at the Koffee Kabin.<\/p>\n
