The boys got their stuffed animals and I pretended to give the animals “commands” to give to the boys, like “raise us over your heads”, “take us to the front door”, etc.<\/p>\n

The idea was to see how Joseph was put in charge of telling others what to do.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Letter Activity<\/strong><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

I had each boy choose a letter between A-D.\u00a0 “A” chose ‘A’, and “R” chose ‘D’.\u00a0 They painted thin glue on their letter and sprinkled mint flakes over it.<\/p>\n

Bible Activity<\/strong><\/p>\n

We talked about being alone (like when Joseph was alone in the cistern, and then when he was taken far away from his family and was sent as a slave to Egypt.).\u00a0 I asked for circumstances when the boys were ever alone.\u00a0 “A” said, “When we are in timeout and when we are at the grocery store and you go to get something and leave us at the cart.”<\/p>\n

I asked, “how would you feel if you had to leave your family and live somewhere else.”\u00a0 “A” answered, “sad”.\u00a0 “R” answered, “happy” (Thanks, “R”! LOL!)<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

We then talked about how God is always with us, and how we are never really alone.\u00a0 We prayed and gave thanks to God for always being there and to help us remember that He is always there.<\/p>\n

Here is a picture from Wednesday, when we made “Stone Soup” for dinner.\u00a0 I went a little crazy with the barley, so it was more like “Stone Sludge”, but the flavor was good, and the kids enjoyed making it in accordance to the book.<\/p>\n
