It was such a gorgeous day today, I decided to take out school outdoors.\u00a0 After a fun morning with a playdate at our house, we went up to Rattlesnake Lake, threw rocks in the lake, then did our lessons.\u00a0 After the lessons, the boys were playing on an uprooted stump, and we ran into a friend and her family.\u00a0 We were able to visit and play with them a little as well.\u00a0 We also found a yellow caterpillar and enjoyed having it crawl up our arms.<\/p>\n

We read about Moses and Aaron warning the king to set the people free.\u00a0 If he didn’t, God would turn the water to blood.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

We gathered water in a container to represent the water of Egypt.\u00a0 I had ‘A’ narrate the story we had just read and turn the water into “blood”.\u00a0 They boys thought this was pretty cool and repeated about three times.<\/p>\n

Letter Activity<\/strong><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The boys traced the letter ‘F’ on a flashcard, with their finger.\u00a0 Both know this letter by sight.<\/p>\n

I asked: “Have you ever been in trouble for not listening to your parents?<\/p>\n

‘A’ responded: “No, we get in trouble for other things.”<\/p>\n

I asked: “What are some “no-no’s” at your house?<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

‘A’ responded: “hitting, cats can’t scratch us, complain about not wanting to go somewhere”<\/p>\n

I asked: “Did the king get into trouble because he did not listen to Moses’ and Aaron’s warning?<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

‘A’ responded: “yes”<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

We closed in prayer, asking God to help us listen to our parents and heed a warning the first time, rather than suffer the consequences.<\/p>\n
