This week’s assignment is<\/span> taking a deeper look into our spiritual lives and the warfare that we are individually facing.  I’d like everyone to seriously think and then blog about a situation in your life where you know that the enemy is attacking you and challenging your spiritual growth.  What area in your life are you feeling burdened or challenged?  The purpose of the assignment is to use this as a tool to arm ourselves better for this battle not to make you uncomfortable.  If this is too personal for you, share an area in your life that you have perservered in a spirtual battle or share your feelings on freedoms in general.

Here is the response to this assignment.  As I was in prayer over this, I was reminded of something that I had received, or seen, quite a while ago.  I was able to track it down.  This is exactly the area in my life where I feel burdened or challenged.  I am making steps to remedy and am fully aware of it, but have not been able to find that balance yet.  I currently serve a the founding Coordinator (now a Co-Coordinator) for a MOPS group of almost 50 women, I am the leader of a Women’s Bible Study for moms with about 23 women, homeschooling my boys, being a wife, mother, friend, housekeeper, etc.  I can do it all, but I cannot do it all well, nor can I sustain the pace I have set for myself. <\/p>\n

I am stepping down from the Bible Study leader position at the end of the year.  I have already found two women who will take over.  I also am making this my last year as a Coordinator in MOPS (it’s my 3rd year, the first year being spent building the program), which will end in June.  I know that homeschool is where God wants me and I am fully convicted that my home needs to be my primary mission field in this season of my life.<\/p>\n

Are you B-U-S-Y?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Satan called a worldwide convention of demons.
\nIn his opening address he said,
\n"We can’t keep Christians from going to church."
\n"We can’t keep them from reading their Bibles and knowing the truth."
\n"We can’t even keep them from forming an intimate relationship with their savior."
\n"Once they gain that connection with Jesus, our power over them is broken."
\n"So let them go to their churches; let them have their covered dish dinners, BUT steal their time, so they don’t have time to develop a relationship with Jesus Christ.."
\n"This is what I want you to do," said the devil: "Distract them from gaining hold of their Savior and maintaining that vital connection throughout their day!"
\n"How shall we do this?" his demons shouted.
\n"Keep them busy in the non-essentials of life and invent innumerable schemes to occupy their minds," he answered.
\n"Tempt them to spend, spend, spend, and borrow, borrow, borrow."
\n"Persuade the wives to go to work for long hours and the husbands to work 6-7 days each week, 10-12 hours a day, so they can afford their empty lifestyles."
\n"Keep them from spending time with their children."
\n"As their families fragment, soon, their homes will offer no escape from the pressures of work!"
\n"Over-stimulate their minds so that they cannot hear that still, small voice."
\n"Entice them to play the radio or cassette player whenever they drive."
\n"To keep the TV, VCR, CDs and their PCs going constantly in their home and see to it that every store and restaurant in the world plays non-biblical music constantly"
\n"This will jam their minds and break that union with Christ."
\n"Fill the coffee tables with magazines and newspapers."
\n"Pound their minds with the news 24 hours a day."
\n"Invade their driving moments with billboards."
\n"Flood their mailboxes with junk mail, mail order catalogs, sweepstakes, and every kind of newsletter and promotional offering free products, services and false hopes.."
\n"Keep skinny, beautiful models on the magazines and TV so their husbands will believe that outward beauty is what’s important, and they’ll become dissatisfied with their wives. "
\n"Keep the wives too tired to love their husbands at night."
\n"Give them headaches too! "
\n"If they don’t give their husbands the love they need, they will begin to look elsewhere."
\n"That will fragment their families quickly!"
\n"Give them Santa Claus to distract them from teaching their children the real meaning of Christmas."
\n"Give them an Easter bunny so they won’t talk about his resurrection and power over sin and death."
\n"Even in their recreation, let them be excessive."
\n"Have them return from their recreation exhausted."
\n"Keep them too busy to go out in nature and reflect on God’s creation. Send them to amusement parks, sporting events, plays, concerts, and movies instead."
\n"Keep them busy, busy, busy!"
\n"And when they meet for spiritual fellowship, involve them in gossip and small talk so that they leave with troubled consciences."
\n"Crowd their lives with so many good causes they have no time to seek power from Jesus."
\n"Soon they will be working in their own strength, sacrificing their health and family for the good of the cause."
\n"It will work!"
\n"It will work!"
\nIt was quite a plan! The demons went eagerly to their assignments causing Christians everywhere to get busier and more rushed, going here and there.
\nHaving little time for their God or their families.
\nHaving no time to tell others about the power of Jesus to change lives.
\nI guess the question is, has the devil been successful in his schemes?
