{"id":351247,"date":"2007-07-03T11:04:00","date_gmt":"2007-07-03T19:04:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.centerdeep2.com\/riverbendprep\/2007\/07\/03\/crockpot-recipes\/"},"modified":"2007-07-03T11:04:00","modified_gmt":"2007-07-03T19:04:00","slug":"crockpot-recipes","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.centerdeep2.com\/riverbendprep\/2007\/07\/03\/crockpot-recipes\/","title":{"rendered":"Crockpot Recipes"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I get asked often for crockpot recipes.&nbsp; I have had them scattered all over, but have decided to place them on one post for easy access.&nbsp; These are my favorites&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><strong>(Tip: Double the recipe and freeze half!)<\/p>\n<p><\/strong><\/p>\n<div id=\"rIng\">\n<h4>Crockpot Chicken Corn Chowder (Best chowder ever&#8230;)<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>2 tablespoons butter<\/li>\n<li>1 1\/2 lbs chicken tenders, cut into 1\/2-inch cubes<\/li>\n<li>1\/2 cup chopped onion<\/li>\n<li>2 ribs celery, sliced<\/li>\n<li>2 small carrots, sliced<\/li>\n<li>2 cups frozen corn kernels<\/li>\n<li>2 cans cream of potato soup<\/li>\n<li>1 1\/2 cups chicken broth<\/li>\n<li>1 teaspoon dried dill weed<\/li>\n<li>1\/2 cup half and half or evaporated milk<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p>In a large skillet, melt the butter or margarine; brown chicken. Transfer chicken to slow cooker. Add onions and celery to skillet and saut&eacute; for about 3 to 4 minutes, until just tender. Add the onions and celery to crockpot, along with carrots, corn kernels, soup, chicken broth and dill to slow cooker. <br \/>\n<font size=\"4\"><font size=\"2\">Cover and cook on low 5 to 6 hours or until chicken is done and vegetables are tender. During the last 10 minutes, stir in the half and half or evaporated milk. Serves 8.<\/font> <\/font><\/p>\n<p><font size=\"4\">_____________________________<\/font><\/p>\n<p><font size=\"4\"><\/p>\n<div><font size=\"4\">Crockpot BBQ Beef Sandwiches<br \/>\n<\/font><\/div>\n<div>\n<ul>\n<li><font size=\"2\">2 lbs hamburger <\/font><\/li>\n<li><font size=\"2\">bottle of favorite barbecue sauce <\/font><\/li>\n<li><font size=\"2\">1\/2 c. sweet relish <\/font><\/li>\n<li><font size=\"2\">2 cans mushrooms , drained, optional (about 4 ounces each)<br \/>\n    <\/font><font size=\"2\">Brown ground beef and transfer to crockpot. Cook on low for 3 to 4 hours.<\/font><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><font size=\"2\">______________________________________________<\/font><\/p>\n<p>Crockpot Vegetarian Chili<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><font size=\"2\">1 onion, diced <\/font><\/li>\n<li><font size=\"2\">2 cloves garlic, minced <\/font><\/li>\n<li><font size=\"2\">1 red or yellow bell pepper, chopped <\/font><\/li>\n<li><font size=\"2\">2 carrots, grated or sliced thin <\/font><\/li>\n<li><font size=\"2\">1 1\/2 cup corn <\/font><\/li>\n<li><font size=\"2\">1 zucchini, diced <\/font><\/li>\n<li><font size=\"2\">2 cans kidney beans <\/font><\/li>\n<li><font size=\"2\">2 15 ounce cans diced tomatoes <\/font><\/li>\n<li><font size=\"2\">1\/2 cup water <\/font><\/li>\n<li><font size=\"2\">1 1\/2 tbsp chili powder <\/font><\/li>\n<li><font size=\"2\">1 tsp cumin <\/font><\/li>\n<li><font size=\"2\">1\/2 tsp red pepper flakes <\/font><\/li>\n<li><font size=\"2\">dash cayenne pepper <\/font><\/li>\n<li><font size=\"2\">dash tabasco sauce (optional)<\/font><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div id=\"rPrp\">\n<div>\n<p><font size=\"2\">Combine all ingredients in a crock pot or slow cooker. Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours.<\/font><\/p>\n<p><font size=\"2\">______________________________________________________<\/font><\/p>\n<p><font size=\"2\"><strong>Crockpot Beef Wraps<br \/>\n<\/strong>Cut chuck roast into stew meat.&nbsp; Cover with a jar of salsa. Cook in crockpot 6 hours.&nbsp; Serve in torilla with sauteed onions and peppers.<\/font><\/p>\n<p><font size=\"2\">_______________________________________________________<\/font><\/p>\n<p><font size=\"3\"><strong>Mexicali Round Steak<\/strong><br \/>\n1.5lbs round steak<br \/>\n1c. frozen corn<br \/>\n1c. cilantro<br \/>\n1\/2c. beef broth<br \/>\n3 ribs celery, sliced<br \/>\n1 large onion, sliced<br \/>\n20oz. jar salsa<br \/>\n15 oz. can black beans, rinsed and drained<br \/>\n1c. cheddar cheese<\/p>\n<p>1. Cut beef into six pieces and place in crock pot.<br \/>\n2. Place remaing ingredients except cheese<br \/>\n3. Cover and cook on low 8-9 hours<br \/>\n4.&nbsp; Sprinkle with cheese before serving<\/font><\/p>\n<p><font size=\"3\">_________________________________________________<\/font><\/p>\n<p><font size=\"3\"><strong>Roasted Chicken Noodle Soup<br \/>\n<\/strong>1c. chopped onions<br \/>\n1c. chopped carrots<br \/>\n1c. chopped celery<br \/>\n1 clove minced garlic<br \/>\n2t. olive oil<br \/>\n1\/4t. flour<br \/>\n1\/2t. dried oregano<br \/>\n1\/2t. dried thyme<br \/>\n6c. chicken broth<br \/>\n4c. diced potatoes<br \/>\n1t. salt<br \/>\n2c. roasted diced chicken<br \/>\n2c. wide noodles<br \/>\n<font size=\"3\"><br \/>\n1. Brown onions, carrots, celery, garlic in skillet<br \/>\n2. Stir in flour, herbs and blend well.&nbsp; Pour into slow cooker<br \/>\n3. Mix in broth, potatoes, and salt.<br \/>\n4. Cook on low 5-6 hours.<br \/>\n5.&nbsp; Add chicken and noodles.&nbsp; Cook until noodles are tender.<\/font><\/font><\/p>\n<p><font size=\"3\"><font size=\"3\">________________________________________________<br \/>\n<\/font><\/font><\/p>\n<p><font size=\"3\"><font size=\"3\"><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 0px\"><strong>Crockpot pineapple roast<\/strong><\/p>\n<div id=\"rInt\">Ingredients:<\/div>\n<ul>\n<li>1 boneless pork loin roast<\/li>\n<li>1\/2c. flour<\/li>\n<li>3T. butter or&nbsp;margarine<\/li>\n<li>2 medium sliced onions<\/li>\n<li>1 can crushed pineapple (20 oz), undrained<\/li>\n<li>1T. vinegar<\/li>\n<li>1T. soy sauce<\/li>\n<li>1c. chopped green bell peppers<\/li>\n<li>1\/2t. cinnamon<\/li>\n<li>1\/2 t. ground ginger<\/li>\n<li>1t. garlic powder<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div>Slice pork loin in slices about 3\/4-inch thick. Dredge in flour seasoned with salt and pepper. Heat margarine&nbsp; or butter in a large non-stick skillet over medium heat. Add pork slices and excess flour; brown both sides.<\/div>\n<div>&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div>\n<div>zSB(3,3)<\/p>\n<div id=\"gB3\">\n<p>Transfer browned pork to the slow cooker\/Crock Pot (3 1\/2-qt. or larger). Add onions and peppers to the skillet, stirring, until slightly browned and tender. Add remaining ingredients and bring to a boil; pour over pork. Cover and cook on low 8 to 10 hours. Serve over hot rice. Serves 6 to 8.<\/p>\n<p>______________________________________________<\/p>\n<p><strong>Crockpot Chicken Fajitas<\/strong><br \/>\n1.5 lbs. chicken cut into 1 inch strips<br \/>\none green pepper, choped<br \/>\none yellow pepper, chopped<br \/>\none red pepper, chopped<br \/>\none small onion, chopped<br \/>\n1 4oz. can of green chilis<br \/>\n1T. lemon juice<br \/>\n1\/4t. vegetable oil<br \/>\n2t. chili powder<br \/>\n1t. cumin<br \/>\nsalt to taste<br \/>\npepper to taste<br \/>\ngarlic powder to taste<br \/>\n1\/2 can\/bottle beer (I use Corona)<br \/>\nPlace first six ingredients in corckpot.&nbsp; Mix remeining items in a owl and pout over items in crockpot.&nbsp; Cook on low 4-5 hours.&nbsp; Serve on warm tortillas with sour cream, guacamole, and cheese.<br \/>\n_______________________________________________<\/p>\n<p><strong>Crockpot Pot Roast<br \/>\n<\/strong>Roast<br \/>\nSliced Onions<br \/>\nSalt&nbsp;<br \/>\nPepper<br \/>\nCelery<br \/>\nCarrots<br \/>\nWorchestershire<br \/>\nDijon Mustard<br \/>\nA can\/bottle of Guinness<br \/>\nPlace all in crockpot and cook for 10 hours.<br \/>\nServe with mashed potatoes<br \/>\n________________________________________________<\/p>\n<p><strong>Slow Cooker Stew<\/strong><br \/>\n1lb. lean beef, cubed<br \/>\n2c. diced canned tomatoes, undrained<br \/>\n1c. beef broth<br \/>\n1\/4c. red wine<br \/>\n1T. worcestershire sauce<br \/>\n1 bay leaf<br \/>\n1t. dried thyme<br \/>\n1t. dried rosemary<br \/>\n1t. dried marjoram<br \/>\n1T. crushed garlic<br \/>\n1\/2t. black pepper<br \/>\n1 onion, diced<br \/>\n2-3 potatoes, diced<br \/>\n1c. carrots, chopped<br \/>\nPlace all in crockpot. Cover.
