While visiting my mom over the holidays, she mentioned that one of our favorite delis, (Sweet Addition in Issaquah, WA<\/em>) had closed down…<\/p>\n

WHAT?!  HOW IS THAT POSSIBLE??  They are an Issaquah landmark!  They have been in business almost 30 years!!  They make the BEST pea salad!<\/p>\n

So, I began to do a little sleuthing.  Sadly, mom’s report was true…see article<\/a>.<\/p>\n

…It’s a good thing a few years ago, I purchased their cookbook….<\/p>\n

Last night, ‘A’ and I made their Chicken Noodle Soup.  We all declare it is the best chicken noodle soup ever.  I dare you to submit a recipe that is better…<\/p>\n

Sweet Addition’s Chicken Noodle Soup
\n<\/strong>Makes 8 – 10 servings<\/p>\n

2T. butter
\n1 med. onion – chopped
\n3c. celery – chopped
\n3c. carrots – chopped
\n2 quarts chicken stock
\n1 pkg. 12oz. frozen egg noodle
\n3c. cooked chicken in bite size pieces
\n1t. dried thyme
\n1T. dried parsley
\nsalt and pepper to taste<\/p>\n

In a large, stock pot over medium heat, melt butter.  Add onion, celery, and carrots and saute until tender.
\nAdd stock and bring to a boil.  Add frozen egg noodles, and reduce heat to a gentle boil.  When noodles are soft, add chicken, herbs, and salt and pepper to taste.<\/p>\n
