{"id":760092,"date":"2010-01-21T01:12:00","date_gmt":"2010-01-21T09:12:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.centerdeep2.com\/riverbendprep\/2010\/01\/21\/art-journey-into-pottery\/"},"modified":"2010-01-21T01:12:00","modified_gmt":"2010-01-21T09:12:00","slug":"art-journey-into-pottery","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.centerdeep2.com\/riverbendprep\/2010\/01\/21\/art-journey-into-pottery\/","title":{"rendered":"Art: Journey into Pottery"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>OK, major homeschool mom points for me&#8230;we did a project that was supposed to be a decorative bowl.&nbsp; The kids were to take a ball of self drying clay and shape a bowl over a paper bowl.&nbsp; After it dries, we were supposed to rip the paper bowl away from the clay bowl.<\/p>\n<p>Well&#8230;the clay I have had around for about a year was incredibly firm.&nbsp; I cut off a piece and kneaded it FOREVER with water.&nbsp; Once it was pliable, I gave it to &#8216;A&#8217; to make the bowl.&nbsp; Then, repeat with &#8216;R&#8217;.&nbsp; <\/p>\n<p>My hands were tired and sore, the kitchen and the boys were a mess, the paper bowls collapsed and we ended up with paper plates.&nbsp; <\/p>\n<p>I know there are a few more pottery projects coming up and I am seriously considering Play-Doh&#8230;<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/farm5.static.flickr.com\/4054\/4292579484_69e5afcf33.jpg\" \/><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/farm5.static.flickr.com\/4055\/4292579668_33a83fdef9.jpg\" \/><br \/>\nThis is &#8216;R&#8217;s plate.&nbsp; He drew a Jedi knight&#8230;<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/farm3.static.flickr.com\/2687\/4292579924_fa7d9c2446.jpg\" \/><br \/>\n&#8216;A&#8217;s plate.&nbsp; Guess&#8230;<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/farm3.static.flickr.com\/2688\/4291838487_e8ba57f7c9.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>OK, major homeschool mom points for me&#8230;we did a project that was supposed to be a decorative bowl.&nbsp; The kids were to take a ball of self drying clay and shape a bowl over a paper bowl.&nbsp; After it dries, we were supposed to rip the paper bowl away from the clay bowl.
