Our friends, Chris and Katie, invited us to join them on their holiday tradition of going to Apple Hill for apple donuts, and then hunting for their Christmas tree.\u00a0 I think there were five families total.<\/p>\n

Another early morning for everyone.\u00a0 We all caravaned up to Apple Hill( 45 minutes toward Tahoe\u00a0in the\u00a0Placerville-Camino area.) The boys were thrilled to discover small patches of snow on the ground.\u00a0\u00a0 It was soooooo cold!\u00a0 First stop was High Hill Ranch<\/a>\u00a0for coffee and fresh made apple donuts…

Next stop, Smart’s Christmas Tree Farm<\/a> in Camino.\u00a0 I wish you could hear the shrieks of joy coming from our car when the boys saw a bunch of snow!\u00a0 We were not geared up with gloves so I gave the lecture on how” if you choose to play in the snow, your hands will get cold, so I would suggest you keep your hands in your pocket.”<\/em>\u00a0 ‘R’ chimed in, saying, “That’s OK, mom, we will just get miserable instead.”

Our house is bigger than our last house, but I think this tree is a little too much…
\n\"\"<\/p>\n

David and Chris gearing up for hauling the tree to a main road for the tractor to pick it up.

Waiting for the tractor, David started up a snowfall fight with the boys…

Our next stop was Boeger Winery<\/a> for a picnic lunch.\u00a0 One family did not hunt for a tree, so they went on ahead and saved three tables for us so we could all sit together.\u00a0

\n\"\"
\n\"\"
\n\"\"
\n\"\"<\/p>\n

This was so cool.\u00a0 Brad and Vicki brought stew and apple cobbler, made in dutch ovens buried in briquets.\u00a0 A perfect Autumn meal in the perfect setting….

\n\"\"<\/p>\n

Our last stop was a drive through downtown Placerville to pick up gourmet pot pies at ZPie<\/a>.
\n\"\"
\n\"\"<\/p>\n

After the trek home, and a short nap, we rallied for a turkey leftover dinner, and then put up the tree!\u00a0 It was neat this year, because the boys were interested in what every ornament meant.\u00a0 We kept the lights on overnight and let the boys sleep beneath the tree.
