{"id":783670,"date":"2011-05-08T07:32:36","date_gmt":"2011-05-08T15:32:36","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/homeschoolblogger.com\/leigharev2\/?p=783670"},"modified":"2011-05-08T07:32:36","modified_gmt":"2011-05-08T15:32:36","slug":"fair-oaks-5k-um-make-that-5-miles","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.centerdeep2.com\/riverbendprep\/2011\/05\/08\/fair-oaks-5k-um-make-that-5-miles\/","title":{"rendered":"Fair Oaks 5k&#8230;.um, make that 5 MILES!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I receive emails all the time about the local runs. \u00a0Almost all of them are 5k fun runs (3.1 miles).<\/p>\n<p>Recently, I received an email to run through the lovely town of Fair Oaks. \u00a0This town is about 30 minutes from my house and they have a local main street. \u00a0They also have a history where they protect the chickens that roam free through the town. \u00a0It&#8217;s charming.<\/p>\n<p>I sent an email out to friends to see who wanted to run this 5k with me. \u00a0When I went to sign up, I discovered it was actually 5 miles! \u00a0We decided to do it anyway&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>Part of the run was through the town and a gorgeous neighborhood; part of the run was off trail in a park by the American River. \u00a0There were five hills we had ascend. \u00a0I made it up four, but had to walk part way up &#8220;the Beast&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>Shanti is a &#8220;barefoot&#8221; runner and ran the course in 47 minutes!<\/p>\n<p>Elyse kept psyching herself out before the race, but found a great stride after the first hill and took off! \u00a0She finished in 59 minutes!<\/p>\n<p>Crystal and I finished in 70 minutes \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone\" src=\"http:\/\/farm6.static.flickr.com\/5223\/5699902528_01fc243d00.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"374\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Crystal<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone\" src=\"http:\/\/farm3.static.flickr.com\/2531\/5699330341_9ddc74d260.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"374\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Shanti, Elyse, Me, Crystal<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone\" src=\"http:\/\/farm3.static.flickr.com\/2494\/5699329491_ecef5ef368.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"375\" height=\"500\" \/><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I receive emails all the time about the local runs. \u00a0Almost all of them are 5k fun runs (3.1 miles).
