{"id":784944,"date":"2011-11-30T03:33:20","date_gmt":"2011-11-30T03:33:20","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.centerdeep2.com\/riverbendprep\/?p=784944"},"modified":"2011-11-30T16:27:34","modified_gmt":"2011-11-30T16:27:34","slug":"2012-bookshelf","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.centerdeep2.com\/riverbendprep\/2011\/11\/30\/2012-bookshelf\/","title":{"rendered":"2012 Bookshelf"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I am currently going through a book on leadership with my friends, Bev and Karen. \u00a0Karen is a life coach trained by John Maxwell and team, and has been coaching us on building our leader skill sets.<\/p>\n<p>One of the things I read recently is about being intentional in your personal growth; I define &#8220;personal&#8221; to include &#8220;spiritual&#8221;. \u00a0To help achieve this, you need to make a plan. \u00a0One of the things you can do is commit to the following:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Read one personal growth book per month. \u00a0Pull aside one year&#8217;s worth of books and commit one to each month.<\/li>\n<li>Listen to one personal growth CD or message per week (I would include Sunday service as this&#8230;)<\/li>\n<li>Attend one personal growth<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<div>I have a library full of books I have not read yet. \u00a0They just keep piling up. \u00a0So, I decide to pull twelve books I am committed to reading over 2012, and invest in really reading and applying what I have learned through these books.<\/div>\n<div>But, which ones to choose?I prayed, closed my eyes, and started grabbing&#8230;<\/div>\n<div>Here&#8217;s my list for 2012:<\/div>\n<div><strong>January:<\/strong>\u00a0&#8216;Released from Bondage&#8217; by Dr. Neil T. Anderson (wow, what a way to start the New Year!)<\/div>\n<div><strong>February:<\/strong>\u00a0&#8216;Amazing Grace: A Vocabulary of Faith by Kathleen Norris<\/div>\n<div><strong>March:<\/strong> &#8216;Magazine Writing That Sells&#8217; by Don McKinney<\/div>\n<div><strong>April:<\/strong> &#8216;Crazy Love&#8217; by Francis Chan (one of my all time favorite books. \u00a0I started to put it back on the shelf, but I decided that it was time to read it again.)<\/div>\n<div><strong>May:<\/strong> &#8216;Made to be Loved: Enjoying Spiritual Intimacy with God and Your Spouse&#8217; by Steve and Valerie Bell<\/div>\n<div><strong>June:<\/strong>\u00a0&#8216;Tea and Inspiration: A Collection of Tea Celebrations to Share with Your Lord and Your Loved Ones&#8217; by Mary Pielenz Hampton<\/div>\n<div><strong>July:<\/strong> &#8216;Taking Care of the Me in Mommy&#8217; by Lisa Whelchel<\/div>\n<div><strong>August:<\/strong> &#8216;Solid Answers&#8217; by Dr. James Dobson<\/div>\n<div><strong>September:<\/strong> &#8216;Sabbath Keeping&#8217; \u00a0by Lynne Baab (Another book I already read, but worth re-visiting&#8230;)<\/div>\n<div><strong>October:<\/strong> \u00a0&#8216;Your Money Map&#8217; by Howard Dayton (I might move this one up&#8230;)<\/div>\n<div><strong>November:<\/strong> &#8216;Mastering Motherhood&#8217; by Barbara Bush<\/div>\n<div><strong>December:<\/strong> Living in Jesus by Marilyn Meberg<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I am currently going through a book on leadership with my friends, Bev and Karen. \u00a0Karen is a life coach trained by John Maxwell and team, and has been coaching us on building our leader skill sets.
