{"id":785287,"date":"2011-12-30T02:27:21","date_gmt":"2011-12-30T02:27:21","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.centerdeep2.com\/riverbendprep\/?p=785287"},"modified":"2011-12-30T02:27:21","modified_gmt":"2011-12-30T02:27:21","slug":"checklist-stocking-the-medicine-cabinet","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.centerdeep2.com\/riverbendprep\/2011\/12\/30\/checklist-stocking-the-medicine-cabinet\/","title":{"rendered":"Checklist: Stocking the Medicine Cabinet"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Make sure you are aware of the appropriate dosage for your children, or have a children\u2019s version of the medication.<\/p>\n<p>Store all items in the master bathroom medicine chest and dispense as needed to the family. \u00a0You might be able to trust your children, but there is no need to stress over having medication in the kid\u2019s bathroom while their friends visit. \u00a0A call to Poison Control would be a real bummer of a playdate\u2026<\/p>\n<p>Depending on how your bathroom is designed, these items can either be placed in the medicine chest, or have their own dedicated drawer. \u00a0If space is limited, these items can also be stored in a plastic covered bin below the sink. \u00a0If there are young ones in the house, make sure these are out of reach, and\/or secured in some way.<\/p>\n<p>Remove all items from the medicine chest, wipe down the shelves, and put back items listed below, or make a list of the items you need:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Aspirin or other Headache\/Pain Remedy<\/li>\n<li>Tums or other Antacid<\/li>\n<li>Allergy Relief Medication<\/li>\n<li>Band Aids<\/li>\n<li>Cold\/Flu Remedy<\/li>\n<li>Diarrhea Remedy (Pepto Bismol or something similar)<\/li>\n<li>Gentle Laxative<\/li>\n<li>Antibiotic Ointment (We use Neosporin)<\/li>\n<li>Sore Throat Remedy<\/li>\n<li>Sunscreen of varying SPFs. \u00a0We have a range of 15-50.<\/li>\n<li>Thermometer<\/li>\n<li>Tweezers for splinters<\/li>\n<li>Ace Bandage<\/li>\n<li>Cotton Balls<\/li>\n<li>Ear Swabs<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>All grooming items (dental, cosmetic, shaving, skin care), \u00a0should have their own place, in their own drawers. \u00a0It is ideal to compartmentalize and\/or contain these items as well.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Make sure you are aware of the appropriate dosage for your children, or have a children\u2019s version of the medication.
