One of our favorite charities to support and serve is ‘Feed my Starving Children<\/a>‘. \u00a0Feed My Starving Children is a non-profit Christian organization committed to feeding God\u2019s children hungry in body and spirit. The approach is simple: children and adults hand-pack meals specifically formulated for\u00a0malnourished children, and they ship the meals to\u00a0nearly 70 countries around the world.<\/p>\n

William Jessup University hosted the packing event this year and we participated. \u00a0They run the even in multiple two hour sessions. \u00a0A half hour is spent in training; about 1 hour 15 minutes packing; then about 15 minutes to wrap up and pray over the completed boxes.<\/p>\n

This is probably one of the best organized events I experienced. \u00a0It feeds my ‘type A’ brain.<\/p>\n

Each bag (providing 6 meals for a child) contains:<\/p>\n

    \n
  1. Rice, the most widely accepted grain around the world.
    \n2.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Extruded soy nuggets, providing maximum protein at lowest cost.
    \n3.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Vitamins, minerals and a vegetarian\u00a0flavoring to give growing children the critical nutritional elements they need.
    \n4.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Dehydrated vegetables for flavor and nutrition.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
