The Hot Chocolate race is a big national production where the race occurs all throughout the U.S. all year long. A group of us ran this years race in San Francisco.<\/p>\n

It was crazy monsoon weather. They ended up shortening the race because they had to close down one of the roads on the route due to safety.<\/p>\n

\nHeather, Mindy, Christi, and I spent the night at the Westin St. Francis. Missy and her husband, Dave, took BART up and went to dinner with us. Dave suggested the Tonga room at the Fairmont and I flipped out. This was\u00a0a bucket list place for me and I could not wait!<\/p>\n

This place did not disappoint. It was all I had hoped for and getting to share it with friends was extra special.<\/p>\n

This is a HUGE race, with a ton of people. With so many who bailed due to the weather, I can’t imagine what it would have been like had everyone showed up! We all ran in waves.

My run buddy, Heather, and I. She’s faster than I am but stayed with me anyway. It was a real treat to run with her. In the background where she is pointing are buffalo that live in Golden gate Park!
