OK, so I said we weren’t going to do anything until Monday, but we had some free time and managed to squeeze in a lesson…

Clippity Clippity

The focus this week was the letter “C”.  After one solid week of working on this letter, “R” still cannot say this letter by sight.  Sometimes, if I ask him if it’a  “C”, he will say yes, but it is not constant.  Not sure if this is something to be concerned about.  He is 2.5.  He can name some other letters by sight, but for some reason, this one is hard for him.

Bible Story

Read Genesis 22:1-13

The New Bible in Pictures for Little Eyes

Focus: God tested Abraham with his son, Isaac.

Active Exploration

We looked at baby pictures of both of the boys and discussed the different stages. (crawling, walking, baby talk, first foods, etc.)

We then talked about how Isaac was once a baby, then grew to be a “big boy”.

Letter Activity

Looked at the “C” flashcard and quizzed the boys on it.  Had them trace it with their fingers.

Bible Activity

We took their favorite stuffed animals and had the boys hug them and love them.  Then, we hugged the Bible  and asked how does God want us to love Him?

The focus was to love God above all.  And to love others to show of God’s love for us.

Music

Played and sang, “God Began a Nation”

P.E./Social

Family camp for the weekend.   The boys were immersed in play with kids of all ages (the teens adore them).  Some fun in the lake (Dad took them in a rowboat), “R” fell asleep during worship time in front of a bonfire…how perfect!

to read and see all the fun you’re having with your family. And I have to say, you said this like a true homeschooling mom: “OK, so I said we weren’t going to do anything until Monday, but we had some free time and managed to squeeze in a lesson…”
