“Baby in the Basket”; Introduced the letter “F”

Bible Story

Bible: Exodus 1:22, 2:1-4

Children’s Bible: Baby Moses went into the river in a basket

Art Activity

“A” cut strips of green paper for grass.  I assisted “R” in cutting his strips.  They glued the “grass” onto the “water”, then placed baby Moses in the water as well.

“A” and “R” made birthday cards for their grandfather.  “A” was able to write, “To Dado”

“Love A(insert name here) (‘Dado’ is grandpa’s nickname, a play on ‘abuelito’)

Letter Activity

I had “A” practice writing his name.  He can do the letters, but has not grasped the concept of placing the letters in a row, next to each other.

I drew the letter “F” in sidewalk chalk and the boys had fun playing on it and saying the letter ‘F’ and making the phonic sound.

Bible Activity

The boys acted out the Bible story.  They pretended to weave a basket, place their baby in the basket, place the baby in the river, pray to God to protect their baby.

I asked if they thought DH and I prayed to God to protect them.  They both said, “yes”.
