My Birthday Boy!

Decked out in a new swim outfit by Auntie Annie and Uncle Artie…

The weather was nasty last week.  Stormy, rainy, windy, icky.  We were homebound for a few of the days, and spent the time watching videos and playing games.  When there was a break in the weather, David offered to watch the boys so Margaret and I could get out for a while.  We went to Pottery World, High Hand Nursery, and Filati Yarns.

High Hand has a restaurant and coffee shop.  We enjoyed this decadent drink called “Grand Cafe”.  It’s a little drinking chocolate at the bottom with a shot of espresso on top…

We bought a 300 piece puzzle for the family to work on, but Margaret and I ended up putting it together late one night…

After attending church service Saturday night, we went to Red Robin for a celebratory dinner.  The place was jam packed and crazy!  The Sacramento area police departments teamed together to raise funds for the Special Olympics.  They placed envelopes on the tables to collect money, and also provided back up help for the Red Robin staff.  In addition to the police officers, each server had an assistant- one of the Special Olympians.  They wore their medals.  It was a great night to be a part of.

We belong to a massively huge church.  After a couple of years of serving with smaller ministries within the church, David was picked to play guitar before the congregation!  They have five services of about 2000 people at each service!  It was a special weekend for David and a big personal milestone for him.  It’s been a beautiful journey of trusting God with timing, and the relationships that were built these past few years.  May everything we say and do give God all the glory!

This shows one of the screen to the side of the stage with david in the background.  The blurry picture is a closeup of David on the screen.  Can you tell I am torn between bragging about my husband and trying to be humble about it!  Proud of you, honey 🙂

Sigh. My baby is 7….bittersweet 🙂

We have a tradition where the birthday boy gets to pick out whatever they want for breakfast.  ‘R’ chose Lucky Charms, Cheesy Eggs, Sausage, and Cherry Yogurt…

We had a friend of the boys stay with us for the weekend, and we made sure it was a fun time for all.

Our friend ‘A’ brought his microscope for the boys to experiment with…

The boys picking out cupcakes for dessert…

We set ‘R’s presents up hight so he could look at them, but not touch….’cuz we’re evil like that…

Out for pizza…

Present time!  Doing the happy birthday boy dance…

A new Indiana Jones hat from brother, and a cool card from Grandma and Grandpa Parker…

We have a tradition with our family where there is a “birthday assistant” who helps the birthday boy celebrate his special day.  The “birthday assistant” receives a little present as well.  We have two “birthday assistants” this year and they received a pair of goggles!

Time for treats!

‘R’ wants to have an outdoor birthday party with friends at a local skate park.  We decided to wait until the weather is better to have it…

No Rain, No Rainbows

HAPPY SPRING

‘R’s 7th  birthday is tomorrow.  Our sweet neighbor came by today and surprised him with a present.  A remote control car!  Guess what we’ve been doing all afternoon….
