Kelsey Creek Park in Bellevue is a delightful place for children.  Wide open spaces to run around, a barnyard petting zoo with a variety of animals, a playground, and an old pioneer log cabin makes for a fun and engaging environment to explore.

Our homeschool group went on a field trip to learn about what life was like during the early years of the pioneer log cabin.

We were blessed with the most perfect day weather-wise.  (That’s my claim and I’m sticking to it…)  Farmer Jayne began by sharing with us the differences in lifestyle amenities between pioneer and modern times.

Farmer Jayne read a condensed version of "Little House in the Big Woods".  She then went around the cabin explaining all the activities the kids could participate in.

Sigh, Linny is moving to Carpinteria, CA.  What does Carpinteria have that we don’t?  Oh yeah, sun (and David’s family)…  No amount of begging and pleading could convince them to move to the Sacramento area with us in January.  At least we will be in the same state, but we will still be eight  hours away.  One a bright note, though, her mom will live an hour from us, so we will get to see each other when she visits her mom.

My A2A partner ‘R’ had other ideas…

We love you and will miss you, Mills Fam!  Our lives have been richly blessed by your presence.  We will keep each other priority.  See you in Cali!

Visit with Dakari

I have a friend who I have known and loved since 1987.  We met while working as graveyard waitresses at Shari’s restaurant.  We went to college together and have remained friends ever since.  I was in her wedding and she was in mine.  She and her family moved to Alaska many years ago, but we have been able to remain close all these years.

Dakari recently visited her mom who lives a few hours from me.  She brought her youngest of five children (well, she’s a twin), Rejoice.  It was wonderful to get to meet this precious jewel in person.  She’s a doll!  An added bonus was that I got to see Dakari’s sister, Daphne, and Daphne’s daughter.
Me and Dakari

We had lunch at a Red Robin (always a good call with kids), and decided to walk the Factoria mall.  We stopped in a Petco and looked at all the animals.

I had assumed that since it was a Sunday, the Children’s Museum was closed, but was surprised to find it open!  Since we are members, I discovered that we had two unused guest passes.  So, we ended up spending about two hours playing!

You are never too old to Teeter-Totter…

I had so much fun filming Rejoice.  She was all over the museum and some of my pictures are of where she was one second ago.  It was a delight to see how much she enjoyed the place.

It was wonderful to see my dear friend and although it was too short, it will carry us over until next time.

Do you remember the wedding that was planned in six days?  Well, this is the post bridal shower that had alot more time to plan!  Mom Liann and sister Sarai hosted it.  Sarai made a delicious lunch!

Liann is getting her moneys worth out of the water fountain!

Facets of ‘R’

I am always the first one up.  I work two hours in the morning for DH’s company, from 6-8AM.  ‘R’ will typically be the next one up, and will join me around 7:30am.  He loves to curl up on the couch or get in bed with Daddy.  One morning, it was pretty cold.  Here is how I found him…

I am amazed this picture turned out.  I was driving and looked back to see him asleep like this.  I took the picture without looking in the finder (so I could continue driving, of course).

For those of you who watch the news, you may have seen some footage about our area.  We recently had some substantial floods that cause the local schools to close for a few days, and some families had to evacuate their homes.

We decided to bundle up and go explore.  I am so glad we did!  We started with a walk to our neighborhood trail along the south fork of the Snoqualmie river.
Here’s a view of "our" river.  It is at least twice its size…

Then, we hopped in the car and drove to Snoqualmie Falls.  I have never seen the falls this size.  I thought the flooding a fews years back was bad, but this is insane!

We drove to Fall City to look around a little more.  This is/was a campground/picnic area…

Boys and Bikes

We had an extended stretch of rain.  This typically means flooding in our neck of the woods.  This also means school is cancelled.  My friend, Lisa, and I decided to take advantage of both of her boys being home, and went for a bike ride.  We found a substantial puddle in the cul-de-sac across the street from my house, and the rest is history…

‘A’ is "riding" ‘R’s bike in this picture.  Hies bike got stuck in the puddle and made a "Fountain".

Boys will be boys…

The boymoms…
