Sushi and a movie with the girls.  Doesn’t get much better!

Immediately upon return from our road trip, we surprised the boys with a week at Breakaway Extreme, our church’s morning vacation Bible school.  What makes it different from the Breakaway Classic, is that they focus on one particular activity.  We signed the kids up for skateboarding.  They had a blast, (although ‘A’ sprained his wrist…)

Our family hosts a theme party every 4th of July.  Typically, it’s based on a state.  This year, we decided to do “patriotic colors”, because this year, we opened our family party to include a few of my moms closest friends and honor my mother during this time.  It was a sweet time.  Many tears were shed, but there were many smiles and laugh as well.

These are our favorites from the walk…

This is an amazing shot.  He held his iPad low and choreographed this himself.

This is a sweet shot that ‘A’ set up.  He had us walk ahead of him to get this shot…

Need to fix this one too.  They thought this was fun because the trees behind look like a monster that’s getting ready to eat ‘R’…

We spent four nights in Seattle and had a wonderful time with my Fabio (aka ‘Dado’), Esperanza (aka ‘Dada’), and ‘Antee ‘ Sara.
Going on a walk with Esperanza and Sara…

We were there when the weather hit the low 90’s.  Very rare for Seattle.  We cooled off at Lake Washington.
Here, everyone is enjoying chicharrones! (Fried pig skin…)

After that, we took the boys to Ye Old Curiosity Shop. A well established waterfront landmark, this shop sell tourist-y stuff, but also contains some of the world’s oddest things.  It’s fascinating and freaky all at the same time.  Their history is worth reading on their website.

One morning, I took the boys on a neighborhood walk.  I wanted to walk the 2.5 mile walk that I had done earlier in the week with Esperanza and Sara.  To make it more interesting, I turned into a Photographers Walk.  The boys brought their iPads and were to take pictures of things that were (to them) beautiful or interesting.  They turned their photos into slideshows.  It was neat to see the walk through their eyes.  They both had some incredible shots.  I will try to get a few up here.  Just need to get the files transferred.

Our annual road trip started off with a drive from our home in California to visit Grandpa Gary and Grandma Julee in Washington.  We joined them for a delicioso Mexican meal.  It was a short visit, but very sweet…

Genesis 9:12-13 And God said, “This is the sign of the covenant that I make between me and you and every living creature that is with you, for all future generations: I have set my bow in the cloud, and it shall be a sign of the covenant between me and the earth.”

Gender Reveal Party

Our friends, Eric and Crystal, hosted a gender reveal party!

*All guests wore the color clothing they thought the baby was.  David and I were Team PINK.  The boys were (on principle), Team BLUE.

The gang anxiously awaits…

IMG_2729 IMG_2730 IMG_2732 IMG_2733

We played a game based on Old Wives Tales. Crystal’s response signified whether it was a boy or girl.  As you can see, the majority of answers show that they are having a girl!…
 IMG_2737
A few friends could not be there, so Eric and Lee Facetimed a couple of friends who were there in technological spirit!
IMG_2739

Time for the big reveal!!  Eric and Crystal did not even know the result.  They had the ultrasound technician put the result in an envelope and sealed it.  They took the envelope, the decorated box, and pink and blue balloons to the local grocery store.  They had the cashier fill the appropriate balloons with helium and cover the box so that Eric and Crystal could not see them.  Drumroll, please………
