A perfect weekend to share with family and friends. My beautiful niece, “P”, graduated high school!! I flew up for a quick visit, and special memories were made….
Before the graduation: My little brother and niece KK

Walking down the aisle with two of her best friends…

Proud parents…

Proud grandparents…

Proud auntie…

La familia…

Sister love…

The next day, we all headed over to my brother’s new property. Beautiful!!

‘P’ and I spent the night in the big city…Seattle. This is a view from our Westin room.

…and this is our view from our table at The Pink Door…

‘P’ tried calamari for the first time…not a fan…

Dessert! She talked me in to going to see a suspense/thriller later that night. There’s got to be a bunch of autnie points in there somewhere!

Brunch at the Icon Grill…

The infamous gum wall at Pike Place Market…

At the end of the school year, our homeschool networks hosts an open house. It is a time when the kids can show some of the projects they created over the year, as well as share a talent they might have.
I served as Lori’s Co-Coordinator this past year. She passed the torch on to me and I am now the Coordinator for the Bayside Homeschool Network. I pray I will be able to serve the group even half as well as she had these past five years…

Talent showcase. ‘A’ and ‘J’ sang a song “One Thing Remains”. Taylor and Bailey accompanied them.

‘R’ and ‘S’ decided to go an alternative route and do the challenge, “Minute to Win It”. They challenged themselves to empty a tissue box in under a minute, using only one hand. They did it!

After the talent show, we had a graduation ceremony for those in our group that were either moving up to 9th grade, or graduating high school. The families who chose to participate cam on stage and one parent in each family spoke a blessing over their child. It was very powerful, and a few tears were shed!
Here’s the 9th grade group..

…and Jeff Pagaragan spoke a blessing over their wonderful high school graduate, Taylor…

I wish I thought to take more pictures of the project tables. There was a wonderful variety. Here is a (poor) picture of some of the boys art and Lego projects…

Our “brother from a different mother” just celebrated his 40-something birthday. He spent it rafting on the American River, surrounded by his closest friends. It was a beautiful and fun day!
The boys were able to invite a friend. They were so excited to get on the river.

Awesome river rats! Josh, Q, Eric, Mike, and Jared

…and we are off!

Birthday boy, living the life…

Shawn (in the water) found $5 that was at the bottom of the river. The river was shallow and super-shallow in parts…

I love this picture! Mama Shirley is not much of a water person. She chose to wear this child’s life jacket in the bright orange color, instead of the adult jacket in a faded orange. She felt the bright orange complemented her outfit better.

NorCal beauties, Crystal, Josh, and Lindsay!

Post raft BBQ. Keepers of the flame…Shawn and Eric.

Precious friend and prayer warrior (Q), my honey (David), and new friend, Jared…

Me and Mama Shirley (another prayer warrior whom I will be forever grateful for praying over us during times of extreme trial…)

Eric and Crystal

Shawn, resting after a hard day. He neglected to re-applysunscreen and got burnt to a crisp. Hard lesson learned, but totally worth it.

We spent a day rafting on the river with Eric and Crystal, celebrating Eric’s birthday. It was a great day and Crystal took a bunch of pictures, but she has not loaded them yet.
Eric decided to load the boys up with sugar before the trip. Dad and Mom (that’s us…) played the evil parents and made them give us half of their stash…

Miss ‘A’ is the wonderful daughter of our friends, Lori and Dan. She was in a terrific, original, play, titled, “Night in the Bible Museum 2”. It was a musical and she had a great part with her own solo song, (she was the Pharaoh’s daughter who adopted Moses)! We sincerely enjoyed watching her and look forward to more!

I have a friend who was raised in Sacramento. She knows all the cool spots. About once a month we take our boys to one of these little nuggets to explore and enjoy. This time it was the Tower Cafe…
…a fun, ecclectic place (right up my alley), we had a wonderful breakfast outside. I could not capture a picture that did the location justice, but it was a beautiful place to dine and spend time together.
