Lucky us to get to go to New York City again! This time it was for the wonderful occasion of sis in law Sara’s wedding to Charlie.
David is not a fan of flying into NYC, so we felt into Philly instead.
A photo David caught of me catching some zzzz’s with my aisle-mates…
Spent the night at the Philadelphia Airport Marriott. We booked it for the convenience of not even having to leave the airport to stay there. Flew in and walked over, checked in, ordered room service, and went to bed.
The next day, we took the train from Philadelphia to New York City.
This is the 30th St. Station in Philadelphia…

Waiting for the train to take off. This was the boy’s first time on the train. It was an enjoyable trip. Very comfortable, plenty of room, terrific wifi.

Our hotel was located in the financial district. Aloft is a boutique hotel with a very modern decor. The boys loved it. The room was small for the four of us, and the focus was more on design than function, but we all did fine

The view from our 9th floor room. It’s common to see the wooden water towers on top of the older buildings, like the one you see here…
we planned on having the windows open at night, but quickly learned that the garbage trucks come down the road multiple times as night, every night. Had to keep the windows shut to get sleep.

The boys wanted to stay in the room, but David and I wanted to go for a walk and explore a little. This was all within a five block radius of our hotel…
